Services

At the end of all our services you are invited to join us for tea or coffee and biscuits. This a chance to get to know us. You will find we are just like you; we have our doubts and our misunderstandings but in all we are just an ordinary bunch of folk trying to do our best to show and share God’s love. Please do come and meet us as we would love to meet you and welcome you into St. Thomas.

First & Third Sunday of the month
Book of Common Prayer
A lovely said service in the quiet peace of the early morning.

First, Second & Fourth Sunday of the month
Parish Commmunion
A traditional Anglican communion service with readings and hymns.

Third Sunday of the month
An all Age Worship Service
This is where we would incorporate Baptisms into our morning worship. This service is a more relaxed and less traditional service, it may be a themed service or include items led by our children.

Fifth Sunday of the month
When there are five Sundays in the month we join with the other churches in our benefice, St. Peter͛s Heversham and St. John͛s Levens for a united service of Holy Communion at 10.30am. The venue rotates through the three churches. This will be advertised on our website, Parish News and social media.

On the Second Friday of each month
There is a short ‘Shoppers Service’ at 10.00 a.m. when attendees often join the regular coffee morning in the church centre.

On the Third Thursday of the month
There is a BCP service at 2 pm followed by ‘tea & cake and a good natter’ at 2.30pm. You are more than welcome to come to one or both!

Stay tuned for our next Music service!

Music

Music is important to us at St. Thomas’; we include well known hymns in our weekly 11:00 am services. We encourage our Sunday school to sing and are fortunate to have an organist to play for us at our services.

Local choirs and singing groups use our church for concerts and performances and we are very fortunate to have a professional soprano Tracie Penwarden, www.tracie@penwarden.org, who is keen to promote music within the village. Tracie and her husband Ian Allen, a conductor, kindly bring together an amazing choir for special services at Christmas and Easter when our church is packed to capacity and the beautiful choral music fills the air.
