Weddings

At St Thomas’ we would be delighted to host your wedding and do all we can to make your day special for you.

A wedding is one of life’s great moments, a time of solemn commitment as well as good wishes, feasting and joy. St John tells us how Jesus shared in such an occasion in Cana, and gave there a sign of new beginnings as he turned water into wine.

Usually in order to get married at St. Thomas’ you need to either live within the parish or have other ‘qualifying connections’ (for example if you were baptised here, or if your parents were married here). There are a few rules about getting married in church.

What we can do to help make your day special

We can help you to choose readings or hymns. Some people choose a friend or a relative to read a special poem or reading during the service others stick to the traditional service. We would be happy to help you plan your service.
